Gaza : Israeli military forces attacked the town of Absan in the south of Gaza Strip early on Wednesday killing two Palestinian fighters, witnesses said.
The troops, equipped with tanks and heavy armor, advanced under a hail of gunfire that showered houses in Absan, and bulldozed cultivated fields in and around the town.
Elite troops burst into houses in search for activists during the operation, the witnesses said.
The assaulting ground forces were backed by aircraft that fired a missile in the direction of guerrillas, killing two members of Ezz-Eddine Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic movement, Hamas.
Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of Islamic Jihad, said its fighters resisted the ground forces with mortars and RPGs.
