Gaza : An Islamic Jihad (Holy War) militant was killed on Tuesday in an Israeli aerial attack on a car he drove southeast of Gaza City, medics and witnesses reported.
Mo’aweya Hassanein, chief of emergency in the Gaza-run Hamas ministry of health told reporters that Ali Dahdouh, 26, was killed after an Israeli missile hit his car he was driving southeast of Gaza City.
Earlier on Tuesday morning, a 13-year-old child was killed and two other civilians were wounded in an Israeli airstrike on northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahia.
Witnesses said that an Israeli helicopter launched one missile at a group of Palestinian militants near the town, adding that the missile missed the militants and hit three bystanders, including a child.
Hassanein confirmed that a 13-year-old Palestinian boy was killed and two other civilians were injured when an Israeli missile struck northern Gaza Strip.
The Israeli airstrike came shortly after Gaza militants launched two homemade rockets from northern Gaza Strip at the southern Israeli town of Sderout.
Israel Radio quoted Israeli army sources as saying that two rockets fired from Gaza hit the town in the Negev Desert, but caused no damages or casualties.
Tuesday morning escalation came as an Islamic Hamas movement delegation headed by senior leader Mahmoud al-Zahar is holding talks with senior Egyptian officials on reaching a truce with Israel in the Gaza Strip.
