The constitution states that Kosovo’s government will have the lion’s share in running the state affairs, currently handled by the United Nation (UN) mission.

Tatci told a local radio the United Nations mission employment would not delay the government’s plan to take over its constitutional tasks, noting that his country would not allow the United Nations and the European Union missions to work simultaneously.

He underscored that his country would overcome the complications that resulted from disputes of the UN and the EU missions taking over in Kosovo, noting that the new government would deploy its forces across areas with Serbian majority residents.

Tatci stressed on importance of respecting Ahtissaari’s peace plan in Kosovo which stipulates transmission of power to the local government, as a step to enable it work independently for its people’s best interests.

He voiced his cabinet un-satisfaction with the troubled situation in northern Kosovo, in areas with Serbian majority residents, demanding the (UN) and (EU) to impose the power of the central government on those areas which he described as rebellious.
