Mottaki made the remarks in a meeting with visiting New Zealand Deputy Foreign Minister Peter Hamilton here Wednesday.

According to the Information and Press Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the meeting, Mottaki said that Iran believes in dialogue in resolving disputes.

The Iranian nation has always remained sensitive to aggression, injustice and unilateralism, he said.

Mottaki also thanked New Zealand for unpoliticizing the issue of human rights and welcomed talks between the two countries.

Since the issue of human rights and its status is of importance, it should be referred to a council for human rights issues rather than to New York, he said.

The New Zealand envoy, for his part, said during his stay he held fruitful talks with Iranian officials on issues pertaining to culture and civilisation.

New Zealand will continue cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran, he pointed out.
