New Delhi : A 30-year-old Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) contractor was allegedly shot dead by unidentified assailants just few meters away from the Najafgarh police station on the outskirts of the national capital.
According to the police, the incident occurred at about 12.15 a.m. Monday when the victim, identified as Hitender Singh, was going home in Najafgarh after attending a function.
“Hitender was going home after attending a marriage in Hastsal area of Uttam Nagar last night. He had gone along with two of his friends in his car. He had dropped them at their homes before he was murdered in Najafgarh,” a police officer said.
The police said Hitender was driving the car when he was shot twice and the windowpane of the driver side was broken.
His body was sent for autopsy. Hitender was a resident of Todar Mal Lane in Nazafgarh area and is survived by his wife and two children.
Family members have denied any personal enmity and the exact cause of the murder has not been ascertained yet.
