Indonesian President leaves for G-20, APEC summits

Jakarta : Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Thursday left here for Washington to attend the G-20 summit slated for Saturday.

According to the Jarkarta Post, during the summit, Indonesia will convey its response and proposals in dealing with the ongoing global financial routs.

Indonesia plans to propose the establishment of a global expenditure funds collected from rich nations to be used to solve the impact of the financial crisis.

On the sidelines of the G-20 summit focusing on the impending global economic and financial downturn, Susilo will also have a series of bilateral meetings with leaders from Japan, World Bank, the United States and Australia, the report said.

Following the summit, President Susilo will visit Mexico, Brazil and Peru to attend the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.
