Pakistan’s senate Defence team arrives in UK

London : A fourteen member delegation of Pakistan’s Senate Standing Committee on Defence headed by Senator Nisar A. Memon, has arrived here on a four day visit of UK.

During the course of its visit, the delegation will visit Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Defence manufacturers Martin-Baker and hold meeting with House of Commons Defence Committee and attend briefings at the Ministry of Defence and Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

The Senators will also travel to Belgium to visit the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) headquarters in Brussels.

Officials at the Pakistan High Commission said this visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties through an inter-parliamentary dialogue on international and regional issues, including the war on terror.

The members of the Committee include Senators Nisar A. Memon (Chairman), Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali, Mushahid Hussein Sayed, Kamil Ali Agha, Waqar Ahmed Khan, Syed Dilawar Abbas, Naeem Hussein Chattha, Asif Jatoi, Professor Khurshid Ahmed, Ms. Saadia Abbasi , Mrs. Rukhsana Zuberi, Kamran Murtaza, Iftikhar Ullah Babar, Secretary, Senate Committee and Amjad Ali, Secretary to Chairman Committee.
