Gaza : Israel ordered once again today to close down all the accesses to the Gaza strip as part of the blockade to Palestine, besides international warnings that Palestinians could suffer a grave humanitarian crisis.
The spokesperson of the Department of Defense of Israel, Peter Lerner, confirmed today that crosses are closed due to the actual shootings in the zone, in allusion to a response made by Palestinians after an Israeli aerial attack which caused 15 dead in 13 days.
Members of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), which controls Gaza, shot various Kassam rockets against Israeli territory, without causing victims, after initial attacks took the life of four men.
A day after being pressured by the international community, Tel Aviv agreed to reopen temporarily the border pass of Karem Abu Salem, for 33 trucks to enter with food and medicine.
The authorization given this Monday by Israel excluded fuel supplying trucks which usually provide with this resource to the only power plant in the coast zone, for which 1.5 million people will suffer continuous power outages.
UN authorities, however, warned that the humanitarian aid provided for the 750,000 Palestinian refugees in the zone is insufficient and will last less than a week.
Israeli Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, who talked this Monday in Jerusalem with Palestinian National Autonomy President, Mahmoud Abbas, considered on Sunday that the truce signed with Hamas last June was finished.
Olmert considered military actions to take the strip from the Islamic group, while Abbas said it was a war crime even though Hamas doesn’t agree on the talks with Israel.
