Abu Dhabi : The fifth Abu Dhabi Conference, highlighting investment opportunities in the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) biggest emirate, will be held here Thursday and Friday.
The two-day conference is being organised by the Abu Dhabi government’s Department of Planning and Economy in association with the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) and Middle East Business Intelligence (MEED), a leading business intelligence provider of the region, the state-run Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
According to Mohammed Omer Abdullah, undersecretary in the Department of Planning and Economy, this year’s event will shed light on the future shape of trade and investment in the emirate of Abu Dhabi emirate.
The conference will also project the pioneering role of Abu Dhabi in the avenues of property development, building infrastructure, clean energy and sustainable development.
Around 500 individual and institutional investors and top decision-makers from around the world will participate in the event.
The emirate of Abu Dhabi accounts for the majority of the oil that UAE exports.
However, the emirate has been actively trying to diversify its economy by investing in the financial services sector and tourism.
A booming real estate industry in the city of Abu Dhabi is also attracting a large number of investors.
