Two bodies are claiming to represent the HOA, one headed by Abhey Singh Chautala, son of former Chief Minister of Haryana, Om Parkash Chautala and the other by Navin Jindal.

“We have full faith in the integrity and justness of IOA. We had sent them our elections report and I had a word with Suresh Kalmadi, president of IOA. He has assured me of looking into the matter and they will announce their decision very soon,” said Rathee, who was elected HOA president after elections to the body on Sep 25.

“If IOA does not give us affiliation then we will move court, Rathee said.

Rathee also feigned ignorance about the formulation of any committee by IOA to look into the controversy of the two bodies.

A local court in Panchkula Oct 8 had restrained Chautala from acting as the office bearer of HOA.

The court has also barred them from using the banner of HOA in any manner at any forum especially for conducting state games or representing the state in the national games.

Rathee added that till 2004, there was no problem in the working of HOA but the crisis started after the general body meeting of HOA June 23, 2004 when Chautala announced himself the lifetime president of the body. The members of the electoral committee protested this move in the general body meeting of HOA May 6, 2006.
