Madrid : India’s Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles of Bahamas moved into the semi-final of Madrid Masters, beating Simon Aspelin of Sweden and Austria’s Julian Knowle in straight sets.
Fourth seeded Bhupathi and Knowles scored a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Aspelin and Knowle here Friday.
The pair converted two of the five break points that came their way while Aspelin and Knowle wasted all five break points.
Bhupathi and Knowles will now take on fifth seeded Jonas Bjorkman of Sweden and Kevin Ullyett of Zimbabwe, who upset top seeds American Bryan sibling Bob and Mike 6-4, 6-4.
