Yedioth Ahronoth Israeli paper reported in its website Tuesday that Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik will hold talks on Tuesday with heads of several parliamentary blocs on the issue.

Most members of the Knesset “are not interested in the elections, they’re all looking for excuses,” the paper quoted political sources as saying.

The elections might be held at the date determined by law, which is February 10, while another possibility is to dissolve the Knesset through legislation in order to hold the elections at a closer date like the end of January or the beginning of February, the paper said.

“There are some politicians, however, who estimate that those who will eventually vote in favor of a bill to dissolve the Knesset will do it in order to delay the elections as much as possible and have them take place even after February 10,” it added.

Meanwhile, sources in the Knesset said March is a possible time, it pointed out.
It seems that it will take a few days before the Israeli fractions agree on the date of the elections, a source stressed to the paper.
