In declarations to an Indian TV channel the leader of the Pakistani Muslim League N-(PML-N) Nawaz Sharif has complained that his trusted ally, the leader of the Pakistani People’s Party (PPP) and Presidential candidate Asif Ali Zardaro used and betrayed him.

The two parties had agreed to reinstate the judges deposed by ex President Pervez Musharraf and abolish absolute executive powers assumed by him, which even had included legal authority to disintegrate the Parliament.

But after Musharraf resigned Zardari did not comply fully with the deal, which made the PML-N break with the coalition.

The PPP has reinstated about 10 judges and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani invited the PML-N, in a conciliatory gesture, to go back to the alliance once all the judges were reinstated.

However, conflict between the two parties could become stronger after the PPP reopened corruption actions against Sharif and his brother Shahbaz, current minister and chief in Punjab, the main Pakistani province.

In this environment the convoy of Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani was shot in Rawalpindi locality, confirmed the information minister Sherry Rehman here.

The convoy was attacked near the airport and the Prime Minister is already safe and unharmed at the House of Government, assured the minister.
