Yemen, Oman Discuss On Establishing Anti-piracy Regional Centre

Sana’a : Yemen and Oman, are in the midst of discussion on establishing a regional centre to combat piracy and armed burglarizing against ships in Yemen, Transport Minister Khaled al-Wazir said Wednesday.

In the Yemeni-Omani Joint Committee, Khaled together with the Omani ambassador to Yemen Abdullah al-Badi, stressed on the importance of the cooperation relations between the two countries in the field of transport and marine, Yemen news agency (SABA) reported.

The minister stressed the importance of developing mutual relations between the two friendly countries in marine and ports field, as well as in civil aviation, exchanging flights and expertise and easing difficulties facing the two countries in ground outlets.

He mentioned that a memo of understanding on eradicating marine piracy and armed burglarizing against ships in the countries of Indian Gulf, Aden Gulf and the Red Sea would be sign during the conference Sana’a would host next October 27 to 30 here.
