San Sebastian (Spain) : US film director Woody Allen expressed strong backing for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama Friday, saying it would be “humiliation and a shame” if Obama did not beat John McCain in the upcoming elections.
Obama was “much better then his opponent” and the only way forward after “eight catastrophic, incompetent and dishonest years,” Allen said at the San Sebastian film festival in northern Spain, which he was attending to present his movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
“It would be terrible if the US public did not mobilize to vote for him,” Allen added.
Spanish Hollywood actor Antonio Banderas also expressed support for Obama at the same film festival Thursday.
