Suchithra of Palakkad had submitted a petition in the High Court against the torture of the police. The petitioner had fallen in love and married a Muslim who was working with her in a private hospital in Palakkad.
When the woman left her home to live with her husband, her father filed a complaint with the police that she was missing. The petition was filed in the High Court pointing that she had married Nisamudheen as per the Special Marriage Act and that the police were harassing them even after informing it.

Suchithra has reportedly asked in the petition to cancel the complaint filed by her father, to provide protection from her family and relatives and to put an end to the harassing of the police. The court has postponed the case to be considered on December 7. The police have been reportedly directed to provide protection for the petitioner to come to the court if she asks for it. Adv PK Ibrahim argued for the petitioner.
