“Iran’s success in joining group of countries having technology of building satellite has made the US angry; the world has been shocked over Iran’s repeated victories in different scenes, including launching of Omid Satellite to the space,” Ayatollah Khatami said in his second sermon to large groups of Tehrani worshippers in Tehran University.

He said that over the past 30 years after victory of Islamic Revolution, the Islamic Republic of Iran has been shining in different political, scientific and cultural scenes and Iranian scientists’ access to the satellite manufacturing technology is a sign of the zenith of Iran’s success.

He said, “The US is extremely unhappy over our progress and we tell them to be angry and die of the anger.”

He said only 50 years have passed since such countries as the US, Russia, Japan, China and France acquired space technology and Iranian people have managed to win the honor.

“Our country has over the past 30 years been subject to different sorts of sanctions and they (westerners) have never provided us with new technology but under God’s grace and wise leadership of the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution, we daily witness more success.”

On Gaza, Khatami said it is still the important issue of the world.

He said Arabs clashed with the usurper Israelis several times over the past 61 years since formation of the forged Israeli regime but the wars proved ineffective but the 33-day war of Lebanon and Gaza attack brought the Zionist state a humiliating defeat.

He said the Qods occupying regime failed in facing Lebanese Hezbollah and Islamic Resistance in Gaza at a time when its army is considered the fourth powerful army worldwide.

He said massacre of 1,250 defenseless men, women and children in Gaza and injuring more than 5,000 in an unequal war sets a document for fiasco of the forged Israeli regime.

He said the world should know that the tyrannical and forged Zionist state is a threat to global peace and tranquility.

On the US President Barack Obama’s comments two weeks ago, Ayatollah Khatami said his motto of change is a mere lie because he is repeating past mistake of his predecessor George W. Bush.

“Despite Obama’s emphasis on the US commitment to maintain Qods occupying regime’s security and continue sanctions against Iran, neither Iranian nor other people worldwide will believe his false gestures.”

He said that if Americans really want to make changes, they should stop their arrogant nature and think on making real changes.

In his first sermon, Ayatollah Khatami predicted mass turnout in the Bahman 22 (February 10) rallies, marking 30th triumph anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.
