New Delhi : The Indian cricket board will launch an inter-corporate tournament to generate employment for cricketers.
The winners will get Rs.10 million (approx $200,000).
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided in its working committee meeting here Saturday to institute an inter-corporate tournament with a view to encouraging employment opportunities for cricketers.
“The tournament will be held annually in the 50-over and Twenty20 formats,” BCCI said in a release after its meeting.
The tournament was aimed at increasing employment opportunities for players. Other prizes include Rs.5 million for the runners-up and Rs.2.5 million for the losing semi-finalists.
