Talking to twocircles.net Kamal Ashraf of AIUMM highlighted several Muslim related issues which he thinks needs attention of the state government. He said that Bihar Madrasa got the budget of meager 22 crore which is nothing in comparison to other states. For instance; Rajastan government sanctioned 300 crore for madrasas,West Bengal 350 crore, Delhi 250 crore, Andhra Pradesh 175 crore and in comparison to these huge sums Bihar Madrasas gets only 22 crore— which is a pity.

He pointed out that Bihar has got 11000 graveyards out of which only 8000 has been approved for fencing, for which budget of only 22 crore has been sanctioned. Criticising the Government intention he said last year Bihar Urdu academy returned 1.39 cr due to non utilization of fund and for this financial year again government has sanctioned 92 lakh rupees 3 days ago. “Is it possible to spend that much money in two months?,” he asked. Adding, “this again will be returned back to the government. This is just an eye wash by the government and it’s not at all serious about the development of the minorities.”

He further said if the government is as serious as it claims, then why it has not brought the salary of Madrasa Education Board teachers at par with those of government school teachers. It is not only lack of seriousness but it shows the apathy and indifference of the government that in whole of Bihar there is only one Muslim Vice Chancellor and that too in a Minority institution like Maulana Mazharul Haq Arabic University.
