Kerala State Wakf Board increases fund for social welfare schemes

Kochi: The Kerala State Wakf Board has decided to extend the monthly financial aid distributed to Arabic language scholars, Arabic teachers and Qadim to 66 more people. This will be an addition to the 803 already receiving the aid.
The board also decided to distribute the financial aid for wedding to 154 poor girls. Twenty-two more will get the board’s help for medical treatment. The decisions were taken in the sanction committee meeting of the Wakf Board Social Welfare Scheme.

“The Wakf Board will try to increase the amount of financial aid and extend it to more number of people if it gets enough contributions,” said KV Abdul Qader, chairman of Kerala state Wakf Board to TCN. “Now these financial aids are given by the government fund allotted for social welfare. We are expecting contributions outside the government and trying for it.”

Paloli Muhammed Kutty, Minster of Local Self-Government and Wakf Affairs, presided over the meeting held in Thiruvananthapuram. Wakf Board chairman KV Abdul Qader, MLA, BM Jamal, CEO, and board members M Ummer, MLA, MC Mayin Haji, Adv PV Sainudheen, Dr Hussain Madavoor, PP Abrurahman, N Ali Abdulla, Adv KA Hassan and Muhammedali Valancheri attended the meeting.
