Abdul Haleem, resident of Kannur, was arrested by the police in connection with the twin blasts that took place in Kozhikode in 2006. Three people were injured in the blasts that occurred in the two bus stands in the city.

Meanwhile, the Karnataka police that questioned Haleem did not get any evidence regarding his connection with the Bangalore blast. The state Anti Terrorism Squad questioned him under the leadership of Detective Inspector Siddhappa from Kozhikode. Haleem was reportedly in jail in connection with a vehicle theft from Aluva in Ernakulam when the Bangalore blast took place. As his role was not proved, the Karnataka police left.

However, Haleem is still the third accused in the Kozhikode blast case. According to the police, Haleem made bombs from Kannur. The police yesterday took Haleem to different places in Kannur for collecting evidence. They took him to a room in a building in the city where it is said that the followers of a thareeqath group used to assemble.
