Mansa (Punjab) : The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate for Punjab’s Bathinda parliamentary constituency, Nem Chand Chaudhary, was Thursday detained by police after he tried to enter a polling station with a loaded revolver.
Mansa district police chief Manvinder Singh told IANS that the BSP candidate was found entering the polling station in Sardulgarh town, near here, with a revolver.
The candidate was stopped by the security officials at the entry point but he tried to force his entry. The police then detained him.
Chaudhary was also found carrying 18 cartridges, police officials said.
