Brussels : Exports from the 27-member European Union to India in January-February 2009 totalled 3.6 billion euro, a drop of 31% from 5.3 billion euro for the same period in 2008.
Indian exports to the EU fell by 12% from 5.0 billion euro in January-February 2008 to 4.4 billion euro for the first two months of this year.
The figures were released by Eurostat, the EU’s statistical office, on Monday.
The EU’s trade balane for March 2009 with the rest of the world was a deficit of 9.5 bn euro, compared with a deficit of 19.6 bn euro in March 2008.
