Bhubaneswar: A group of 45 minor children from an orphanage in Orissa got a taste of air travel when they were taken in a specially chartered Kingfisher flight to Kolkata from here Saturday for a joyride.
The “Bhubaneswar Round Table 53” – a local chapter of the Round Table India – an umbrella of young, rich and successful Indian professionals and businessmen – organised the trip to mark Children’s Day. The children from the “RAWA Academy” orphanage returned the same evening.
“The initiative was an effort to bring a small change in the lives of the underprivileged sections of the society,” Mitesh Khimji, chairman of the chapter, told IANS.
He said Round Table India believes in community service through the fellowship of its members and the Bhubaneswar chapter has always done its bit for the underprivileged.
