Hyderabad : Andhra Pradesh’s worst-in-a-century floods have claimed 90, according to the official count, Minister for Information and Public Relations J. Geeta Reddy said Thursday.
The floods in Krishna river damaged over 200,000 houses in five districts, she said.
The state cabinet has decided that every minister will pay Rs.50,000 towards relief operations in the flood-affected areas.
The minister said the cabinet thanked voluntary organisations and others who had taken up relief works in the affected districts.
The cabinet also decided to constitute a sub-committee to look into alleged irregularities in Arogyasri scheme, under which poor families are provided free healthcare in corporate hospitals.
