Thiruvananthapuram : Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan turned 86 Tuesday — but for the veteran Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader it was just another day and business as usual.
The day began as usual with a slight variation from the daily routine when his wife K. Vasumathy gave him a glass of ‘payasam’.
Speaking to reporters, Achuthanandan said the day was like any other except for the many calls wishing him on his birthday.
“I got a call from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who wished me a long life. I said thanks,” Achuthanandan said.
The CPI-M leader was busy attending public functions here on his birthday also.
