Islamabad : Reiterating Pakistans urge, the Prime Minister Saturday asked India to resume proper dialogue, which has been suspended since Mumbai attacks.
Addressing newsmen in Southern Karachi port city, Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said that Pakistan wants “relations with India on equal basis”. However, he said, “it is our resolve that we will not allow our soil to be used for terrorism and, therefore, we wanted a proper dialogue to be resumed as in the present situation the terrorists are benefitting”.
The Prime Minister said that only terrorists will be the beneficiary of no bilateral talks between the two neighbors.
Pakistan has been constantly urging India to resume peace dialogue, which was launched at the brink of fourth war between the two adversaries in 2003 and suspended again in 2008 when the duo again came at the brink of another possible war in the aftermath of Mumbai attacks.
Although, Islamabad has assured New Delhi of full cooperation in investigating the attacks and has for the first time put on trial its citizen for terror attacks on foreign land, India remains wary of its sincerity. It demands arrest of wanted terrorists first and then resumption of talks.
