Lucknow : A 35-year-old youth was allegedly mowed down by a doctor in a government hospital here, police said Tuesday.
The incident took place late Monday at Balrampur Hospital.
The deceased, Babloo, was sleeping under a tin shed of the emergency department when the doctor, yet to be identified, ran over him with his car.
“According to eyewitnesses, it was a Honda City car and the doctor, with the help of some employees, took Babloo inside the emergency ward and fled from there,” A.K. Pathak, a police spokesperson, told IANS.
Babloo, a native of Sitapur district, had got his wife Vimla admitted to the hospital last week and had been attending to her since then.
An FIR (first information report) was registered against unknown persons in the Kaiser Bagh police station Tuesday.
“We are awaiting the post mortem report and have also got clues about the person driving the car through the registration number as described by witnesses. We will nab him soon,” Superintendent of Police (West) B.P. Ashok told IANS.
