New Delhi : The Supreme Court Wednesday asked the Chhattisgarh government to respond on the plea seeking the disbanding of the Salwa Judum set up to counter Maoist violence.
The apex court bench of Justices B. Sudarshan Reddy and S.S. Nijjar also wanted to know what action was being taken against the Salwa Judum activists involved in various offences against the tribals.
The court direction came during the course of a hearing of a petition by Delhi professor Nandini Sunder.
Salwa Judum translates to peace march.
