“The chief minister, after two hours of inspection in various parts of the city, has informed that she is satisfied with the progress in Games-related work which is carried out in the civic body’s jurisdiction,” Sawhney said about the two-hour visit.

Sawhney also informed that 90 percent of the work carried out by the corporation is over while there is some patch work which will be over by Aug 31.

“The street-scaping carried out on 24 roads near five Games stadia, parking facility near Jawaharlal Nehru stadium is already complete,” Sawhney told IANS.

Sawhney blamed the upgradation work – which involved digging of roads for cable laying – carried out by agencies like BSES, North Delhi Power Limited (NDPL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) for delaying and hampering the civic body’s work

“There is a lack of coordination among various agencies in the capital,” she added.

Speaking about the debris lying all over the city, she said: “Already, 60,000 tonnes of debris has been shifted. We will continue to shift it as construction work goes on.”

She also said that MCD will make sure that all Games-related project work gets completed by Aug 31.
