Bomb blast kills 4 in Pakistan’s southwest

Islamabad : A bomb blast in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province killed at least four people and injured 10 others on Thursday, police said.

The bomb exploded outside a roadside hotel in Nasirabad, a city some 500 kilometers southeast of Quetta, the provincial capital, District Police Officer Syed Farid Ali said.

He said the bomb was attached to a motorcycle and was parked in front of the hotel.

The blast caused damage to the hotel and several other buildings and shops, witnesses said.

Officials said that those killed and injured are civilians.

No group claimed responsibility for the blast.

It is the 4th attack on security force in Balochistan in less than a week.

On Tuesday District Police Officer and six other persons were injured in a bomb attack in Jaffarabad, a city about 300 kilometers southeast of Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan.

The Baloch Republican Army had claimed responsibility for the attack.

A day earlier, a bomb attached to a motorbike, was detonated through remote control in Panjgur, city, when a convoy of three vehicles of security forces were passing through the area. No one was hurt in the attack.

On January 23, two army personnel were killed and two others were injured after unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on a group of soldiers in a market in Khuzdar city.
