PFI protests against police bias in professor attack case

By TCN News,

Kozhikkode: To express their anguish against arrest and torture of innocent Muslim youths in the professor attack case, Popular Front of India (PFI) yesterday took out protest marches in several cities and towns in Kerala. Protesters demanded the police to stop arrest of Muslim youths and put real culprits behind the bar.

They blamed that after the incident in which Professor T J Joseph’s hand was chopped, police are arresting and haunting innocent Muslim youths, conducting raids at their houses and spreading rumors and trying to malign the PFI through baseless allegations and a section of media is also working to defame PFI. They termed it an attempt to create communal divide in the society.

They warned those who are in vain hope of intimidating PFI activists through these means that they would withstand all their heinous attempts and come victorious as in earlier cases.

They urged police to arrest the culprits who are behind the attack and are indulged in vilification campaign against Popular Front and its activists

Notably, following the attack on the professor police put PFI under scanner. A number of PFI activists were arrested in connection with the case. PFI has been clearing its position and denying its involvement in the case but failed to affect police actions. Yesterday’s protest was part of the campaign against the police bias.
