New Delhi: Japanese car manufacture Nissan Thursday began the nation-wide sales of its hatchback car Micra, priced between Rs.3.98 and 5.29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Positioned in the hatchback B plus segment with competitors like Maruti Ritzs, Ford Figo and Hyundai i10, the car comes in three variants with 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine.
All models are petrol-driven, with the entry-level model XE costing(Rs.3.98 lakh), mid-level XL (Rs.4.69-lakh) and top-end XV (Rs.5.29-lakh).
The company cliams the car to have a fuel efficiency of 18.06 km per litre with a boot space of 251 litres and safety features like driver and front passenger airbag, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) which are standard in the top-end model (XV).
About 85 percent of the Micra is said to have to been developed in India and is equipped with some unique features like first-in-its-class intelligent key plus immobilizer which is an anti-theft feature and a push-button engine start-stop system.
“Micra is the right product at the right time that will offer the customers a good means of urban mobility with a complete package of performance, features, safety and comfort,” Kiminobu Tokuyama, chief executive of Nissan Motor India.
Micra has registered an booking order for 2,000 cars.
