New Delhi : Ahead of global climate change talks in Mexico’s Cancun in December, ministers from 48 nations will meet in the capital Tuesday to discuss mechanism for transfer of technologies to mitigate climate change impacts.
The two-day ministerial dialogue on “Climate Change – Technology Mechanism” will enable participants to assess the options and facilitate agreement at COP 16 (conference of parties) in Cancun.
The dialogue is being organised by the environment ministry in cooperation with the UN department of economic and social affairs and the government of Mexico, which holds the presidency of COP 16.
The conference would address issues on means of implementation, including institutional framework, capacity building, innovation, financing and partnerships to facilitate development and transfer of technologies.
