Rejecting the plea, the fifth fast track court’s Judge Shrikant Watawati said a prima facie case exists against Maudny, 31st of the 32 people charge sheeted in the serial blasts case.

The eight low-intensity explosions in a span of 30 minutes killed one woman and injured 15.

Maudany’s lawyers said they will move the high court against Watawati’s ruling.

The Karnataka High Court Thursday dismissed Maudany’s plea to quash the charge sheet against him.

“There is a prima facie case against him,” Justice Subhash Adi said.

Maudany, arrested by a Karnataka police team from his camp in Kollam district in Kerala Aug 17, is now lodged in Bangalore’s Parappana Agrahara jail.
