New Delhi : A man who faked a snatching incident to misappropriate his employer’s money was arrested along with his accomplice, police said Tuesday.
Pankaj and Amit were arrested Saturday from Budh Vihar area of outer Delhi.
“Pankaj registered a false case of snatching of Rs.82,650, a mobile phone and recharge coupons of Vodafone company April 3,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Chhaya Sharma said.
“He took the help of his friend Amit for the crime.”
Pankaj was employed by a Vodafone distributor to sell recharge coupons to small shopkeepers.
“He wanted to misappropiate the money collected after sale of recharge coupons,” Sharma said.
Rs.44,000 in cash, a mobile phone and Vodafone recharge coupons were recovered from the duo.
