KEC International bags Rs.550 crore orders

Mumbai : Power transmission major KEC International Ltd. Wednesday said that it has bagged orders worth Rs.550 crore ($123 million) in India and Brazil for constructing transmission lines.

“The company has secured a turnkey contract for construction of 400 kv transmission lines from Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Ltd (Mahatransco),” KEC International said in a regulatory filing.

Valued at Rs.367 crore, the completion period of the project is 18 months.

SAE Towers, the wholly-owned subsidiary of KEC International, has secured a Rs.183 crore tower supply order in Brazil.

“We are seeing huge demand for transmission towers in American markets, KEC and SAE Towers have secured total Rs.1,350 crore tower supply orders post acquisition,” said Ramesh Chandak, managing director and chief executive officer of KEC International.

At the Bombay Stock Exchange, the shares of the company closed 3.43 percent up at Rs.88.90.
