A veteran diplomat, Ushpiz served as head of bureau for coordination at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem before arriving in Delhi a few weeks ago.

Earlier, Ushpiz served as minister for congressional affairs at the Israeli embassy in Washington, and as policy advisor to many Israeli foreign ministers.

“I am extremely excited to serve as the sixth ambassador of Israel to the Republic of India. Next year we will be celebrating 20 years of a burgeoning and multi-faceted diplomatic relationship,” the Israeli envoy said after presenting his credentials.

“Israel and India share a wide range of values, interests and challenges. Our cooperation in agriculture, high tech, science, education and much more has proven to be tremendously beneficial to the people of both nations and I look forward to further develop this important relationship,” he said.
