Islamabad : A drone crashed Thursday evening in Pakistan’s Balochistan province near the border with Afghanistan, a media report said.
The incident happened near Chaman city, Xinhua reported citing Urdu TV channel Duniya.
The unmanned aircraft crashed while it was hovering near the border area. It fell down because of a technical fault, the report said.
Though most of the people killed by the drones in Pakistan’s northwest tribal region are suspected militants, such aircraft have mistakenly also killed innocent people.
More than 40 drone strikes have taken place in Pakistan in 2011. An estimated 406 people have been killed in such strikes this year.
