Panaji : The nationwide anti-graft movement of Anna Hazare would not have packed the same punch had social networking media such as Facebook not been around, a marketing expert said Tuesday.
Kunal Kishore, director of a brand managing firm Value360, told reporters here that social media networking and campaigns are the most powerful contemporary forms of communication for getting a point across to a young and hungry India.
“Anna Hazare’s movement has proved just that. Social media is booming with opportunity. Without Facebook, Anna Hazare’s movement which galvanised India against corruption, may not have picked up pace,” said Kishore, who is also one of the organisers of APREE 2011, an annual advertising, public relations, events and entertainment workshop.
