Dozens of Iranian protestors stormed the British embassy Tuesday after a rally against sanctions London imposed on Tehran. The crowd, most of them students, tore down the British flag and replaced it with the Iranian flag. They also ransacked the compound.

The attack was part of a larger demonstration that followed a decision by Iranian authorities to expel the British ambassador from the country within 15 days.

British Foreign Secretary William Hague Wednesday ordered all Iranian diplomats out of Britain.

Britain also evacuated all its diplomats from Iran Wednesday.
