Speaking on the occasion, Iqbal Zaheer, Editor, Young Muslim Digest, said: “Professor Ram Sharan Sharma writes that before 16th century there was no existence of any temple in that place and all the historians agree on this claim.”

“The verdict delivered by Allahabad high court is undemocratic and extra-legal also because it is based on myths and legends and not on the evidences on record. It has relied more on the argument of faith manufactured during the past years by the Sangh Parivar with ulterior political motives” said Meraj Ahmed of IFF.

He urged the Congress Party to show courage to undo the historical mistake done by P. V. Narsimha Rao by reconstructing the Masjid at the same site.

He also stressed the need of unity to defeat the fascist forces and to build progressive and peaceful nation.

In his speech, Abdul Waheed, IFF President, Urdu Chapter, called upon all citizens of India to act democratically and give the due rights to the minority communities.
