Moscow : An ex-UN employee has been arrested for allegedly holding jobs at the UN and the National Labour Relations Board (NLRB) as well, the US Department of Justice website said.
The NLRB is an independent agency of the US government charged with conducting elections for labour union representation and with investigating and remedying unfair labour practices.
The former UN employee was allegedly obtaining over 100,000 dollars in salary for the two jobs.
According to a statement released by the Department of Justice, Jeffrey Armstrong accepted a full-time position with the UN in March 2008 after taking a leave of absence from the Department of the Army.
His salary at the UN was approximately 160,000 dollars.
On April 13, 2009, he allegedly began working at the NLRB with an approximate salary of 121,000 dollars.
The man allegedly did not inform his supervisors of his dual employment.
Armstrong is scheduled to be arraigned July 7. He could get up to 20 years in prison and fined 250,000 dollars for each wire fraud count.
