Kozhikode: Dr Hussain Madavoor, general secretary of the Indian Islahi Movement, is the lone Keralite attending the three-day international conference organised by the Muslim World League (Rabitha). The conference discussed the religious and political problems of the contemporary Muslim world. Governor Prince Khalid al Faisal inaugurated the conference in Makkah on Saturday.
Over 300 delegates from more than 20 countries all over the world participated in the conference held on July 23, 24 and 25.
Dr Madavoor is presently serving as the South Indian Coordinator of the Rabitha. There are two more representatives from India besides Dr Hussain Madavoor – Moulana Jalaludheen Omari, Jamat e Islami national Amir, and Moulana Salman Nadwi, head of the Shariah Department in the Lucknow Nadvathul Ulema.
