New Delhi: Salman Khurshid, Union Minister for Minority Affairs, represented India at the investiture ceremony of Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on May 29, 2011.

During the visit, Khurshid also inaugurated a Clinic & Diagnostic Centre which is being run by Dr. S. Hassan, a second generation Indian, who has served as Principal Medical Officer, University of Maiduguri Health Services, and Head, Accident and Emergency Department, University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
Dr. Hassan’s Cinic and Diagnostic Centre is hugely popular with people in Nigeria. The service being rendered to large humanity in Nigeria has led to steadfast building up of credibility of Indians both in and outside Nigeria, said a communication from the Ministry of Minority Affairs.
