Woman injured at Ramlila ground still ‘very critical’

New Delhi: Fifty-one-year-old Rajbala, who suffered spinal injuries during he police action against fasting yoga guru Baba Ramdev and his supporters early this month, continues to be in “very critical” condition, a doctor said Monday.

“She continues to be on ventilatory support and her condition is very critical,” N. Shashi Gururaja, medial superintendent of the G.B. Pant Hospital, said in a statement.

He added that Rajbala is conscious and obeying verbal commands. She had undergone surgery June 5 for cervical spinal injuries, but continues to be quadriplegic.

“There is no major fluctuations in heart rate and blood pressure. Her vital parameters are being maintained with pharmacological support,” said the statement.
