Thiruvananthapuram : K. Muraleedharan, the former head of the Congress’ Kerala unit who is back in the party after a six-year suspension, says he has learnt a hard lesson fighting for others and will be cautious in future.
“I realised that those for whom I fought within the party got their due, and I became the scapegoat. From now on I will be very cautious,” said Muraleedharan, who is the son former chief minister K. Karunakaran.
He was suspended in 2005 for violating party discipline.
When asked if he would contest the April 13 assembly polls, he said: “When I was taken back, I had made it clear that my return is unconditional. From now on, I will work according to the directions of the party high command.”
One of Karunakaran’s last wishes was to see his son back in the party. The former chief minister died Dec 24 last year.
