Pakistani provincial minister shot at

Islamabad : A minister in Pakistan’s Sindh province, Muhammad Zubair Khan, had a narrow escape when he was shot at Sunday night by unidentified gunmen, media reports said Monday.

Khan, a member of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), was standing outside his residence in Hyderabad when the assailants indiscriminately started firing at him, Geo News reported.

There were no casualties in the incident and the attackers fled the spot, police said.

The MQM has demanded the government to bring the culprits to book.

The Nation newspaper reported that Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik spoke to Khan over phone and inquired about the incident.
