The UAE said its help is in consistence of the policy laid down by the country under the leadership of President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for assisting brotherly and friendly countries at times of crisis and disasters.

“The UAE is assuming its humanitarian role within the framework of brotherhood and friendship with the Libyan people,” said Juma Mubarak Al Junaibi, Under Secretary of the UAE Foreign Ministry.

The UAE has, in coordination with Turkey, sent a ship loaded with medical and humanitarian aid to Libya.

Two UAE planes carrying humanitarian aid flew last week to Libya to contribute in efforts to ease suffering of the Libyan people by meeting essential requirements from medicines, and medical equipment to food materials.
