The CBI officials conducted searches at the house of NLC’s executive director B. Sivagnanam, who returned from Colombo in the morning, at Neyveli, around 180 km from here.

The CBI raids, for the second consecutive day, were conducted on complaints of irregularities in sourcing by the NLC.

Confirming the searches, an official of the NLC told IANS that the company’s sourcing contracts run into hundreds of crores of rupees.

On Tuesday, three CBI teams raided the office and house of Sivagnanam at Neyveli and seized various documents and contract copies.

Sivagnanam’s house was searched Tuesday by the CBI in the presence of his relatives.
